Jackie's Baby Shower...finally posted (2 months late)

Hard to believe that it's been over 2 months since my mom and I surprised Jackie with a baby shower...and that Macy has joined us outside of the womb.  =)  It was great fun actually being able to pull it all off with so many friends and family there.  Here are a few pictures from the shower:

Andi Dykstra (one of Matt and Jackie's friends) and Jackie - only 2 weeks difference in their due dates.  It's so not fair that some people (ummm...Jackie!) don't even look pregnant when they're 32 weeks pregnant!!!

Matt and Jackie welcomed an adorable little girl into their family today at 1:24 PM EST (12:24 PM CST).  Macy weighs 7 pounds and is 19 inches long.  Welcome to the family, Macy!

Prayers

John's latest prayers have been ending like this:   

and God bless Aunt Jackie and the baby in her tummy, Miss Shonda and the baby in her tummy, and the baby that will be in Mommy's tummy. 

When asked about that statement, he said he wants to have another sister or a brother.  Ugh.

Yes, babies have been on John's mind a lot lately.  That was the theme in preschool last week, so he was asking all sorts of questions about when he was a baby.  It was fun to look back at his baby pictures (those are actually in an album!).

A Big Tummy?

John's response to this picture: Why is Jackie's tummy so big?

Me: (thinking: seriously...THIS is big?) Why do you think it's getting bigger?

John: Because she's going to have a BABY! Her baby is going to be tinier than Emma.

We're Expecting...

a niece or nephew in January. My brother Matt and his wife Jackie are expecting their first baby in January, and we are so excited! Matt and Jackie told me about it at Andrea and Philip's wedding and I kept it a secret from Scott until we met them at Village Park for a picnic lunch the next week.

John and Emma were trying to get the leaves, so Matt lowered the branch slightly.

Cool dude!

Matt and Scott entertained John by throwing the soccer ball over the shelter and watching for where it would land. Jackie and I didn't appreciate the loud crashing noises on the metal shelter. Emma, on the other hand, didn't care because she kept trying to wander away.

"Wii" Had Fun

After dinner and the horse race, we headed to Grandpa VM's house and played the Wii for awhile.

They knocked each other down at the same time...Jackie and I had done the same thing. That was pretty cool to watch on the replay.

Our First Horse Race

After dinner at the Triple Crown Buffet (at Prairie Meadows), we went out to watch the horses. Our timing was good...we only had to wait a few minutes to see a race. Number 6 was the winner.
