Landon, John and Emma were entertained as soon as entered Silver Dollar City...by a salamander/gecko with a blue tail.

Queen and Princess

Emma gave us both crowns...with big diamonds. Aren't they lovely?

A Good Brother

The kids were getting ready to get our neighbor's paper, but John was ready first.

Emma: John, you please wait for me?

John: I'll wait right outside the door. Okay, Emma?

Emma: ok. Thank you, John. (turns to me) John a good brother.

Happy 4th of July

We joined Brian, Jenni, Blake, and Lauren Whitaker, as well as Brian's mom Pat, for the Norwalk parade. John only plugged his ears a couple times.

But I Want Candy

Emma thought the sirens on the fire trucks were too loud, but she quickly discovered that she got more candy if she waved to people. Plugging one ear and waving with the other hand was her solution to that dilemma.

Fireworks

After the Iowa Cubs game on the 2nd, we enjoyed a great fireworks show. We were sitting along the third base line and the fireworks are shot off from a bridge behind the stadium. It was beautiful, and I would have enjoyed it more if Emma hadn't been crying most of the show. It was a little loud with the sounds echoing in the stadium.

Baseball

Although we didn't get John signed up for baseball this year, we've been playing catch and also letting him hit the ball in the front yard. A couple days ago, I was busy and couldn't pitch the ball. That's when he started doing this:

Running Errands

John got to run some errands with Daddy, and he requested that Daddy send a picture to Mommy. He sure loves stuffed animals.

Emma's Dance

Emma often dances around. Here is one of those times. Notice how she's barefoot...and not throwing a fit about ants/bugs. Dancing must allow her to forget about other things. Enjoy!

Catching Fireflies

As it began to get dark and finally cool off, the kids (John in particular) wanted to try catching fireflies. Grandma suggested we put them in jars, so the kids each had a jar for me to put them in.
